Looking Harder
These works model a condensed experience of discovery, centering on the relationship of appearance and reality. I seek to construct situations that encourage curiosity and investigation. Borrowing, referencing, and building upon elements derived from machines, mechanical movements, scientific apparatus, and musical instruments, my pieces evoke purposefulness, while remaining inscrutable and, often, absurd. Wearable, interactive, and multi-sensory, they are objects of play, catalyzing exchanges between object, wearer, and observer.
